Last photos of the school

Images and text originally posted by Melanie Wright on the Friends Reunited website.

This is the school we all love and remember! Our school was then a college soon to be pulled down. So we managed to get in (I was a full time studant so used my studant card) and took some photos. It was like being back at school again and we felt like a teacher was going to jump out and give us detention for being out of lessons! It's funny how at the time, I hated school but as the years go on I have fond memories, even though I was bullied rotten here! I hope you enjoy looking at these pictures and that they bring back nice memories for you.

This is Philip, I met up with him years after we left school.
This weather vane was on top of B block. It shows the date the school was built when it was Percy road Boys School. Anyone remember lunch time in the flats behind?
B block and part of the large playground.

Steps leading up to the drama room. Also round the bend was the music rooms, the hall way to other blocks. And through to the staff room.

Inside the drama room.

B Block roof. We weren't allowed up here, so for those of you who were curious, this is what it looked like! This was part of the old Percy Road Boys School and was said to be haunted.
We had typing practise in here. One year this was my form room.
This was B Block hall. We had assemblies, dance, plays and fires here!
We had PE in here. I hated them ropes and climbing frames.
Between the old and new blocks was the link corridor.

This is Philip holding up a dustbin lid that has the name of the school on it. We used to have pottery in here.
The girls loos! A popular meeting place for those who smoked.
I think this was in the science/maths block.
When this was our school, there were arches where the glass is on this picture. We all used to gather here when it was raining.
I'm sure this was used as a room for teaching, but all I remember it for was DETENTION. I think I used this room a lot!

Art room.
Another part of the playground. I think this was the library, but it's so long ago.
We queued for hours here, or it felt like it. This was outside our dinner hall.
Large playground. And for those who liked to escape... the wall! Behind this was a small park.
